Realizing the potential growth in the industrial products market, Charles R. McDonald founded McDonald Equipment Company (MECO) in 1968, to distribute Onan engines, generator sets, and transfer controls. MECO eventually became the largest Onan distributor in the U.S. with sales of over $38,000,000.00 per year. Continuing the company's growth and development, MECO moved forward in the industrial engine market by acquiring our Deutz diesel engine distributorship in 1979.
